Pirátské sítě / Pirating pirates
The world looked on helplessly as African boys in sandals overtook tankers standing as tall as an eight-storey building. God knows how they managed to climb aboard not to mention how they managed to avoid naval fleets sent by the European Union to protect the sea lanes. Regardless of our modern navigational and satellite equipment, they remain the masters of these seas. It is incredible that the lure of money lies behind all of this – anyone resorting to such demented acts must be desperate. Most of them are uneducated local fishermen who no longer hunt fish, but rather people. However, the fate of such pirates surviving these attacks does not end in Somalia, but rather far beyond its borders, where they disappear along with their money, because no one in Puntland stashing money at home lives to see tomorrow.
